Prophecies Concerning the End Times: "Excerpts from Chapter 2."

Here are a few excerpts from Chapter 2 of my book, A Sure Word of Prophecy: Where Are We on God's Time Clock?

In Matthew 24, the disciples approached the Lord as He departed from the temple, prompting a conversation. They seemed very proud of the temple, and I can imagine some of their remarks, maybe pointing out, “Lord, some of these stones are probably from the original temple that Solomon built,” as they showed Him designs on the stones to prove the antiquity of the building.

After listening to them, Jesus responded, “See ye not all these things? Verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down” (Matthew 24:2). His statement captured the disciples' attention, as they had learned that whenever the Lord spoke, it was never a small matter.

Later, as Jesus sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached Him privately and asked three specific questions:

  1. Tell us, when shall these things be?

  2. What shall be the sign of thy coming?

  3. What shall be the sign of the end of the world? (Matthew 24:3).

These questions set the stage for one of the most amazing teachings of Jesus, known as the Olivet Discourse.

Below is a historical depiction of the destruction of Jerusalem and the Second Temple in 70 AD, sourced from the World History Encyclopedia. Both Daniel and the Lord Jesus foretold this significant event.

But there is an important discussion the Lord had with His disciples that would not only affect them but also impact us today, beginning with Matthew 24:4. The very first thing the Lord told His disciples was: “Don’t Be Deceived.” This was a crucial part of the Olivet Discourse.

Yet, here is what I want to focus on: Matthew 24:6—“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars.” These wars have or had an agenda, leading to the finality of the End-Time.

Wars That Shaped the Nations of Today:

From these wars came the:

  • Holy Roman Empire

  • The German Empire and World War One (WW1)

  • The Nazi Empire and World War Two (WW2)

These wars have brought forth a modern Roman Empire known as the __________________.

Daniel the Prophet spoke of a Leopard Beast in Daniel 7:6 that had four heads (each head representing a time of dominion). The empires named here represent the Leopard Beast of Daniel and will play a major role in this One-World Government.

Daniel 7:6

In Conclusion:

The prophetic words of Jesus in Matthew 24 and the historical fulfillment of the destruction of Jerusalem and the second Temple in 70 AD and the wars that followed remind us of the significance of God’s Word and His perfect timing. These events serve as a foundation for understanding the larger picture of His prophetic plan for humanity. As we look back on the history that shaped our present world, we are also called to look forward with faith and discernment.

The question remains: Where are we on God's Time Clock? Are we paying attention to the signs He has given us, or are we allowing the distractions of the world to obscure the truth? The study of prophecy is not just about knowledge—it’s about preparation and living with a sense of urgency and hope for what lies ahead.

I invite you to join me on this journey through A Sure Word of Prophecy as we explore the signs of the times, the fulfillment of Scripture, and exploring the question "Where are we on God's Time Clock?"
