A Sure Word of Prophecy: Where are we on God's Time Clock? Excerpts from Chapter 2

As the Lord Jesus and His disciples sat on the Mount of Olives in Matthew 24, He taught them about the events that would unfold in the Last Days:

"For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places."

From January through June of 2024, there were 65,555 recorded earthquakes. From June through December, 331,047 more occurred, bringing the total number of earthquakes for the year to 396,602, according to USGS.gov.

As the world shakes—both physically and spiritually—many remain unaware of the deeper significance behind these events. The prophecies of Matthew 24 offer clear insight into the challenges that will characterize the End Times. Earthquakes, wars, and upheavals are not random occurrences but part of a larger prophetic timeline foretold by the Lord.

Those unfamiliar with the Lord are unaware of the true nature and reason for these events. However, the Lord provides His Church with the understanding needed to face these times without surprise or dismay. Our hope does not rest in the stability of this world but in the unshakable truth of God’s Word. It serves as both a warning and an encouragement to remain steadfast.

Believers are encouraged to prepare for persecution by staying committed to Christ and seeking the Lord despite increasing difficulties. With this understanding, we can approach the "beginning of sorrows" with hope and assurance, knowing that He who foretold these things is also the One who sustains us through them.

Let us remain grounded—not in the shifting sands of this world, but in the firm foundation of His truth. The earthquakes may come, but the faithful will not be moved.
